EducationThis was a unique opportunity for British schools to see an indoor/outdoor exhibition of Chihuly’s work. This exhibition provided schools with an opportunity to investigate and explore colour, light and form in art and nature within the inspiring surroundings of Kew Gardens. A programme of schools and family activities, led by our skilled team of teachers and volunteers, ran throughout the exhibition, ending January 2006. These unique events united science and the arts, and conveyed Kew’s key conservation messages. Gardens of Glass: Chihuly at Kew could be used as the focus for a cross curricular visit to teach science (plant biology, living things in the environment), geography (plant adaptations), citizenship (glass recycling) and art.
